Alex is the Head of Environmental Planning at Tauranga City Council. With over a decade of experience leading compliance groups across both city and regional councils, Alex has had a front-row seat to the challenges of being a modern regulator, but also the huge contribution local government can make towards protecting the taonga of our natural environment here in Aotearoa.
Alex is passionate about the role of local government in shaping resilient, thriving places for our communities to call home, and confident in its ability to adapt and lead through change. He is committed to finding practical ways to make systems work better, and is working with colleagues across the motu to position local government to deliver for Aotearoa's future.
